Once you have been picked up you can sit back and relax and enjoy a short trip through the Corfu countryside to the stables.
The stables have been established for more than 20 years and have an enviable reputation for safety and enjoyment. The owner’s love of animals cannot be doubted, you will be introduced to the horses, dogs and cats. The eleven horses are suitable for beginners because of their quiet nature and good manners, but are also spirited enough for the more advanced riders.
The trek begins in a beautiful wooded area of full of oak trees, once out of the woodland there is a striking view of the village of Ano Korakiana in the distance. Twenty minutes into the trek, you will arrive at the village of Ano Korakiana to wind your way through the quaint houses and semi-rural landscape. The ride then continues for another 40 minutes through olive groves, along wide dirt tracks, passing vineyards, and pastures of grazing goats and sheep.
Arriving back at the stables cold drinks are served, this time enables you to see how much care is taken and how much work is involved to keep the horses in perfect condition. After every ride, the horses are untacked, showered and fed. You can bring apples or carrots as treats for them, if you like.
For comfort and safety, we ask that you ride in long, comfortable trousers, a T-shirt (or similar) and a full shoe, not sandals or flip-flops, however the stables can provide the correct clothing if necessary.
A good selection of hard hats are available; we strongly recommend you wear a hard hat when riding.
Departures (Local Time)
Tour start time is flexible. Please, state the desired tour start time in the reservation form.
In case that your cruise ship calls in the port later than its scheduled time, do not worry we will know about this change and we will be waiting for you at the port terminal building from the moment the cruise ship will dock (without any extra charge). In this case, we however will appreciate if you call us at 0030 6945 265048 and inform us about the time you will disembark from the ship. Your tour commences from the moment you get in our vehicle.
Special Instructions
- Please wear long pants, comfortable shirt, and closed-toed shoes for the ride. We also recommend that you wear a sunscreen.
- A collection of helmets will be available (as well as boots and chaps if necessary).
- Complimentary refreshments are offered at the stables after the ride (cold soft drinks, beer, tea, or coffee). Water is available during the ride.
Restrictions
- This tour is not available on Sundays.
- The maximum number of passengers that can be accommodated is 8.
- The minimum age for this tour is 6 and the maximum age is 60 (except advanced riders).
- There is no official weight limit for passengers. However, we will ask you your weight in the reservation form. Seriously overweight or obese clients are not able to participate in this excursion.
- This tour is rated as "moderate."
